Story of the World: Ancient Times by Susan Wise Baur

I have used this history book for my first grade boy for homeschool.  She is an excellent writer and I found myself getting into the stories as much as my son.  I think he has grown into the book as the year has gone on.  In the beginning it was like pulling teeth to get him to listen and respond to my questions about the reading.  As he has matured he has become more and more interested in it.  I think it also helps that by the end we are talking about wars involving the Greeks and
Romans which he loves to get into.  A friend of mine mentioned that the next book is even better and that it's right in line with second grade.  I can't wait to start next year.  I think he's going to have fun with it
